Our Katrin brand was launched as one of the first professional tissue brands in Europe. The name “Katrin” stems from Katrinefors the Swedish Metsä Tissue mill, which was named after the founder's wife, Anna Catarina Fors. Katrin’s renowned products are now produced in mills around Europe.
The Mariestad mill, Katrinefors was established in 1765. Back then, paper was made from textile scraps. At the end of the 19th century, matchbox labels were made in blue straw paper and constituted 90 percent of the entire production.
In 1915, the sulphite factory was completed and during the following decades many types of paper based products were produced e.g. corrugated cardboard, industrial paper and tissue paper.
Today, Katrin is the specialist for clean, sustainable and insightful hygiene solutions for public washrooms and workplaces. Our product range includes hand towels, toilet paper, household towels and professional cleaning towels as well as dispenser systems, soaps, disinfectants, and accessories.
