Since its foundation in 1919, Metsä Board Husum has continuously evolved, and today the mill is one of the world’s most modern in terms of the production of folding boxboard, white kraftliner and chemical pulp. After extensive investments in further expansion and state-of-the art technology, we are now ready to take the next step on this journey.
We would therefore like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend the inauguration of the latest major expansion of the Husum mill. This is a key investment that ensures future competitiveness and further improves the environmental performance in line with Metsä’s ambitious sustainability strategy.
At the time the ceremonial ribbon is cut, the modernised folding boxboard machine, BM1, will be the largest of its kind in Europe. The upgrade was made possible by an investment of EUR 230 million and has resulted in a production capacity increase of 200,000 tons making its total annual capacity 600,000 tons.
