Tako board mill

Metsä Board Tako mill produces high-quality folding boxboards tailored for demanding packaging end uses. The paperboards are pigment-coated on top and/or reverse side or entirely uncoated. The BCTMP (bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp) we use makes it possible to produce light yet stiff paperboards with excellent printability and brightness.

The board mill is located in the centre of Tampere on a site where wood processing started already in 1865. The mill’s red brick façade remains a visible part of the city’s industrial heritage.

All the wood raw material the mill uses is traceable and comes from sustainably managed Northern European forests, which are either PEFC or FSC® certified, or meet the criteria for controlled origin. The mill is committed to Metsä Board’s target of achieving completely fossil free mills and products by the end of 2030.
