Today, reducing plastic waste and supporting the circular economy is more important than ever. With this in mind, in 2021 we launched a fully recyclable paperboard lid for takeaway cups together with Finnish start-up The Paper Lid Company.
The lid, which is made from fully recyclable dispersion barrier board, can be used for both hot and cold beverages. A novel technology developed by The Paper Lid Company makes it possible to form the paperboard into a one-piece lid that clicks snugly into place and works just as well as any lid made from plastic.
