Metsä Fibre, as part of the Metsä Group, is committed to the UN Global Compact and Sustainable Development Goals. UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative which engages already over 9,500 companies and Metsä Group has been involved in the initiative since 2003. Our sustainability principles are based on these globally acknowledged principles. We report our progress in our Annual Review and in Metsä Group’s Annual Report.

Code of Conduct guides our work

Our work and decision-making are guided by Metsä Group's Code of Conduct and other group-wide policies. The Code of Conduct summarises our commitment to respect for human rights and responsible business.

We also expect all our suppliers to commit to the Metsä Group Supplier Code of Conduct. This includes our minimum requirements for respecting the environment, human rights and responsible business practices. In 2023, 98.7% of Metsä Group’s procurement will come from suppliers committed to these principles.

  3. 3

    Environmental targets

Metsä Fibre is also one of the founding members of the #GreenSource pulp industry initiative together with other members of the European Pulp Industry Sector, and The Confederation of European Paper Industries. The industry initiative aims to promote the role of forest-fibre industries in the effort to achieve the EU’s climate neutrality target by 2050.
