Metsä Group's Metsäverkko-mobile has released a new version with a completely redesigned forest plan and a fully mobile application for electronic timber sales. In the future, the mobile app will offer the same main functions as the browser version of Metsäverkko.
In the renewed mobile application, the usability of the forest plan has been improved and it is now easy to use and illustrative. "The forest plan is suitable for all types of forest owners, whether they are new to forestry or well-versed in forestry," says Mikko Lumperoinen, Development Manager for Forest Owner Services.
The forest plan in the mobile app presents information in layers. The user can go deeper into it according to their own knowledge and interests. In the new Metsäverkko mobile, the acceptance of timber sales and forest management offers is designed entirely from the mobile user's perspective.
In the future, the mobile app will be regularly updated with new features, as all developments in Metsäverkko will also be brought to the mobile app. For example, more features will be added to the renewed forest plan. The familiar personal notes and pre-marking of measures from the previous version are still missing, but will be added to the mobile app in future updates.
Signing into the renewed Metsäverkko mobile app requires strong authentication, but after the first login it works with a password or fingerprint authentication, for example.
Metsäverkko and its mobile app are available in Finnish and Swedish to those owning forest in Finland and it is free of charge for all users.
The mobile app has been redesigned based on feedback from Metsä Group's developer community of owner-members and its own staff. "Our aim has been to develop the service to be more customer-oriented and to bring the electronic services features of the browser version to the mobile version," says Mikko Lumperoinen.
