Easier co-ownership with a power of attorney

A power of attorney especially facilitates the management of co-owned memberships. You can authorise co-ownership partners or other individuals. For example, one partner or party to the estate can be granted extensive rights to conduct electronic transactions in Metsäverkko. This means that the authorised party can handle agreement and investment matters related to the membership electronically in Metsäverkko.

You can provide authorisation fully electronically in Metsäverkko or through a power of attorney, which you can download and print under this link (in Finnish). Return the power of attorney to our customer service by post (Metsäliitto Cooperative, Customer Service Team, PO Box 10, 02020 METSÄ) or by email (jasenpalvelut(at)metsagroup.com).

How to provide authorisation

  1. 1

We recommend that you draw up powers of attorney either electronically in Metsäverkko or using Metsä Group’s power of attorney template.

You can print the power of attorney template on our website or request one from our customer service.

In Metsä Group’s power of attorney template (in Finnish), a partner can be granted electronic authorisation to Metsäverkko, the functionalities of which cover agreements related to the forest estate as well as investment matters related to the membership. Independently drafted general powers of attorney are usually insufficient for electronic authorisation in Metsäverkko.

  2. 2

In Metsäverkko, the authorised party can sign and approve wood trade and forest management agreements.

The authorised party can also maintain the membership’s share investments by making investments based on measurement certificates, change the payment method of members’ capital or terminate additional shares, for example.

  3. 3

An authorisation granted to a partner is in force for an indefinite period.

The authorisation enables agreement and investment matters to be handled conveniently and at the right time, as projects and decision-making are not unnecessarily delayed due to a document being delivered by post from partner to partner for signatures, for example.

  4. 4

To revoke an authorisation, the authoriser can either modify the level of authorisation in Metsäverkko or remove it altogether.
