Woodio – winner of several design awards for its unique wood-based bathroom furniture – is scaling up its production capabilities. With the new factory in Lahti, Finland, to be completed in 2025 at a cost of approximately EUR 7 million, production of Woodio products will enter a new era.
“Metsä Spring became a member of the Woodio team in 2019. Woodio's current production facility in Helsinki was built with the funds collected in the funding round organised in 2019. The company has learned a lot since then and now is the right time to take the next step in the development of the production technology,” says Niklas von Weymarn, CEO of Metsä Spring and member of the Woodio Board of Directors since 2019.
The innovative Woodio material is a 100% waterproof wood composite that is moulded into the final form. It is designed as an alternative to ceramics and other materials used in bathroom and interior design.
