Raubach tissue paper mill is deeply rooted in the region and is considered a key local employer. More than 250 employees work in production, maintenance, logistics and material management, product and process development, sales and marketing, as well as controlling and administration to supply our trade partners with paper towel and industrial wipes, as well as toilet paper, kitchen rolls and paper tissue. Also located at the Raubach site is Katrin Academy, the training centre of our Katrin brand, which stands for sustainable hygiene solutions professional use for example public washrooms, hotels, schools, restaurants, industrial workplaces and healthcare environments.

The mill has two tissue paper machines and eight converting lines as well as a deinking system for recycled paper.

At the Raubach mill, we produce top-quality tissue products for our hygiene competence brand Katrin for professional use. Individual concepts for numerous customer private brands are likewise developed and implemented. Every day, we reach millions of consumers throughout Europe with our products and support them with hygiene solutions at home and on the road.

    The mill was founded in 1715.

    Converted to a tissue paper mill

    Under the management of the Milchsack family, the mill was converted from an iron mill to a hygiene paper mill for medical purposes in 1873.

    The Halstrick family took over the company in 1929.

    Since 1999, the mill has been a part of Metsä Tissue.

Visitor Information

The Raubach mill is located centrally in Germany in the Rhein-Westerwald Nature Park (Neuwied district). The localities in the area offer good infrastructure, while cities like Koblenz and Bonn are easily accessible. The mill is conveniently situated between the Köln-Bonn and Frankfurt/Rhein-Main metropolitan regions, in the direct vicinity of two A3 motorway exits, as well as the Rhein-Main ICE train line with two ICE train stations nearby.

How to reach us

The visitor’s gate is located directly on road L267 between Puderbach and Raubach. Visitors can leave their cars in the car park across from or within the mill premises. If you are using a navigation system to reach us, please enter Hauptstr.1, 56316 Raubach.

Visitor registration

Visitors need to register at the mill gate. Before your visit, your contact partner at Metsä Tissue will provide you information regarding mill security. You will then receive an email with a link to a safety training session which you can complete conveniently on your own PC or on-site during registration. The test is valid for one year. For the registration, please have an official identification card ready.

During registration at the mill gate, you will receive a paper printout. Please save the paper printout. Presenting the printout during your next visit within the following 12 months, will significantly shorten the registration process.
