Kerto-Ripa roof elements

Modern architecture often requires large, open spaces without columns, making roof designs with wide spans essential. Prefabricated structural glued Kerto-Ripa® rib and box elements made from Kerto® LVL are a great solution for this. These CE-marked elements can be 6 to 24 meters long, but those between 9 and 21 meters offer the best cost efficiency.

Using Kerto-Ripa roof elements allows for large roof areas to be quickly installed, reducing time and labor costs on site. Solar panels or green roofs can also be easily installed on top of the elements.

Kerto LVL S-beam is used as a rib and Kerto LVL Q-panel as paneling. The panel thickness and rib dimensions can be adjusted according to technical requirements. Openings for ventilation and electrical installations can also be installed inside the elements. The element manufacturer glues the roof system in the factory using screw or nail press bonding, thereby transferring a large part of the added value to itself. We advise on the introduction and optimization of production technology.

Benefits of using Kerto-Ripa in roofs

Material savings: Kerto-Ripa roof structures allow savings of up to 50% of wood material compared to massive wood structures due to material-efficient hollow-core structure.

Space flexibility: Long span Kerto-Ripa roof elements allow the design of large open spaces without the need of load-bearing partition walls. This increases the adaptability of spaces in both residential and office buildings.

High level of prefabrication: Elements can be fully equipped with insulation, roofing membrane, acoustic panels, lighting, ventilation and electrical systems in a factory.

Fast and efficient construction: Compared to on-site construction, large elements with high level of prefabrication shortens project timelines by shifting more work into factory and allow for quick on-site closing of the building envelope. Up to 1,500 square meters of finished roof can be installed in a single day.

High quality: Kerto-Ripa roof elements are manufactured under controlled conditions in a factory and reduce moisture-related risks
