This month sees the launch of Metsä Wood's Nordic FencingTM – an exciting new line up of landscaping products built from our slow grown timber. Made using a surplus off-cut that was, until now only sold to the Middle East for concrete pouring, we are taking a material from Finland and using to create something that is not only much more profitable to the business, but that also offers market leading performance.
Finland experiences some of the harshest winters on the planet and, because Metsä Wood is raised in these tough conditions, it grows more slowly. As a result it is tighter, stronger and more durable than trees grown in warmer climates, such as the typical UK fence panel which is manufactured from local, softer timber.
The quality of Metsä's slow grown raw materials translates into higher performance in the real world. In third party testing the Nordic Range has proven to be up to twice as strong as the market leading panels, withstanding gale force winds of over 100mph!
From frosty, windswept and rain-drenched winters to balmy, humid summers we get all extremes of weather here in the UK. Therefore it's important to fit a fence panel that can cope. Using a better grade of raw material, Metsä's Nordic FencingTM offers a performance that simply cannot be matched by its Southern European counterparts.
We will be launching the new range at GLEE, the UK's biggest and most valuable garden and outdoor living tradeshow. The exhibition is the perfect forum for us to launch the Nordic FencingTM range, as well as showcase our entire landscaping range.
GLEE takes place at NEC in Birmingham from 12th – 14th September.
