847 tons of wood
Cavero 40 building was constructed by using 847 tons of wood of which over 60 tons were Kerto LVL products. Kerto LVL T-studs form the load-bearing structure of timber-framed walls, while Kerto LVL S-beams were used in floor and roof structures together with Kerto LVL Q-panels to form strong Kerto-Ripa elements. The building also includes a wooden elevator shaft made with CLT, which demonstrates how wood can be applied in modern construction practices.
Metsä Wood supplied tailored sized Kerto LVL beams (51x225 and 45x225 mm) to meet the specific requirements of the project. This tailored approach ensures that the materials were used efficiently and effectively in the construction process. The construction was able to achieve material efficiency by selecting various Kerto LVL products in order to maximize their individual benefits. This approach enhanced the overall structural performance.
