Kerto® LVL Q-panel is a smart choice for roof and floor structures

GREY-Linden in Hannover, Germany, is a 2-storey commercial building that was originally built in 1976 by Wilhelm Weber as a workshop for his carpentry business. In 2016 the building was taken over by RelaxedLiving and renovated during 2020 – 2021 by wood constructor Karl Hoffmeister GmbH aus Lamspringe. Today, GREY-Linden is home to Coffee School Hannover and a modern and open workplace.

In GREY-Linden's renovation project, heavy steel-containing elements were replaced with wood, and a new timber-framed building was built. Metsä Wood's Kerto® LVL Q-panel products were used in floor and roof structures that were left visible, giving the interior a warm, stylistic and pleasant atmosphere.

Kerto LVL Q-panels are available in standard widths, for example 1250 mm and 2500 mm

Advantages of Kerto LVL Q-panels

39 and 45 mm thick Q-panels are quick and easy to handle and install on the construction site while ensuring extremely stiff roof and floor structures. Kerto LVL Q-panels also have good fire protection. This is due to the quality and density of the Nordic wood, giving it a good charring rate. In addition, Q-panels are designed to meet the requirements for fire protection of REI 30.

Kerto LVL products are extremely material-efficient meaning less wood is needed in volume compared to other wood materials. With Kerto LVL, you can build thin and open structures without compromising the strength of the structures. Metsä Wood delivered Q-panel products for this project in customized length which means waste was reduced to nearly 0 %. Q-panels are available in various thicknesses (27 – 75 mm), widths (200 – 2 500 mm) and lengths (2 000 mm – 25 000 mm).
