Asia and the United States are Metsä Wood’s most important strategic growth areas. Consequently, both sales and marketing efforts have been sharpened in these areas.

This is visible also in the results. China and South-East Asia are the regions where sales of Metsä Wood’s products have grown the most through new customers.

In addition to sales of sawn timber driven by China’s furniture industry, growth opportunities in Asia can be found in plywood for concrete formwork, birch plywood for use in the cargo tanks of tankers transporting liquefied natural gas, and wood construction.

New applications for Kerto® LVL wood products are being explored particularly in the rapidly urbanizing Chinese markets.
