We safeguard forest biodiversity in many ways. We protect valuable habitats and increase the amount of decaying wood in forests. We also aim to increase the amount of carbon sequestered in forests by 30 per cent from 2018 levels. This will be achieved through sustainable forest management, and keeping forests vital and growing well.
Carbon is also sequestered in long-life wood products, and we are increasing the share of these in our production by increasing our manufacturing capacity of, for example, sawn timber and Kerto® LVL through new investments in mills.
